3D Design Fundamental

I had taken 3D design fundamentals in this semester. What is 3Dimensional Design Fundamentals ? Dimensional have ingredient to 1D, 2D, 3D and etc. 1D is we only can imagine the ideas in our brain. 2D is we can tracing and drawing on a paper. 3D is we can tracing the ideas with some materials such as wires that can be touching. Besides, design fundamentals is an introduction to the basic elements and processes of visual communication. The goal of this course is to provide students with a working understanding of perception relevant to the visual arts and the production of visual art products.

Identify the best possible ways in reuse recycle material collected thus create environmental awareness through the art learning and design a main structure of 3D water floating object based from subject matter studied.I do reconstruction using steel wire to form and structure of understanding and choosing the best one structure as part of the design development for 3D water floating objects. Reference about water vehicle needs to be done extensively to understand the concept of 3D objects floating water and collect recyclable materials to identify the best ways to reuse water in floating 3D construction of objects. Building and understanding in service before this will be used in the final project.

This one is my task 1 of understanding form through building and construction activity. I had a bee, fish and leaf.

This is my task 2. This task we have to pick from the three subject matter we already did in Task 1 and make that subject matter into a boat. I used the fish as my boat.

This is the final task and it is a group project. We choose turtle shape for our boat and this turtle idea is from my group member Deness. This is our turtle boat.

Limited Edition Packaging

The whole process of making BOH Green Tea Christmas Edition is a long process. Firstly, I drew sketches of how my BOH Christmas Edition will roughly look like. This is my sketches.

Next, I made the mock up of my packing using A3 paper and this is how it looks like.

Then, I start my packaging, using this mock up idea, I did the same thing using A3 drawing block and then wrapped the inside box with green colour paper. And printed the design for the outer box on glossy paper to make the packaging look nicer. Finally I added the bow on the top of the box to make it look like a Christmas present as the limited edition packaging is in fact about Christmas.

This is the measurements, a screen capture of the design in Ai and the designs on each side.

RESEARCH POWERPOINT

IDEAS IN CONTEXT

For this subject, our lecturer Mr Safwan instructed us to form a group and come up with an idea for shooting a commercial. We had many options but we narrowed it down to a fragrance commercial, a sports commercial or an energy drink commercial. We picked energy drink commercial and the energy drink is Vigor. Next we were instructed to do research on Vigor Energy Drink. All our group members have been given a task to do research on and my task was to do research on Vigor's marketing strategy and come up with the problem statement. This is my research that I have done.

Marketing strategy

The Vigor Power Energy Drink is a non-alcoholic energy drink manufactured by Jeenhuat Foodstuffs Industries Sdn, Bhd. Currently, the Vigor Power Energy Drink comes in three variants – Vigor Power Gold, Vigor Power Ice, Vigor Power Extra. Vigor Power Energy Drink contains lower percentage of caffeine but higher percentage of vitamins to provide consumers with a healthier alternative of functional beverage.

Vigor Power Energy Drink depicts a picture of confidence, strong & energized individuals, prepared for challenges, extreme activities and active sports.

Jeenhuat Foodstuffs Industries Sdn. Bhd., the manufacturer and brand owner of Vigor Power has invested heavily in extensive range of marketing and brand building activities in all its present markets. In the years coming, Vigor Power will continue to intensify its marketing programs in the all it’s existing and new markets with the aim to make this brand one of the fastest growing brands in the region.

The brand has been exported to many countries includes Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iran, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Maldives, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Austria, Germany & UK.
Other than that, Vigor has gone to many different countries to advertise and promote Vigor Power Energy Drink

PROBLEM STATEMENT

VIGOR ENERGY DRINK IS NOT FAMOUS IN MALAYSIA.
VIGOR ENERGY DRINK IS NOT FAMOUS IN MALAYSIA AND WE ARE HOPING THAT BY COMPLETING THIS PROJECT, WE CAN MAKE VIGOR AS FAMOUS AS IT IS IN THE MIDDLE EAST AS WELL AS EVERYWHERE ELSE. VIGOR ENERGY DRINK HAS 5 DIFFERENT KINDS OF FLAVOUR BUT IN MALAYSIA ONLY 2 OF THEM ARE BEING SOLD. THIS SHOWS HOW INFAMOUS VIGOR IS IN MALAYSIA. FURTHERMORE, VIGOR ISN’T SUITABLE FOR DIABETIC PATIENTS, PREGNANT WOMEN AND THE ELDERLY WHICH REDUCES ITS POPULARITY AMONG THE PUBLIC.

Next, Mr Safwan gave each group member a specific job to do on the day of shooting the commercial, this is the members and their jobs.

On the day of shooting, I brought all the essential things the make up department would need such as make up, powder and tissues. My task was to make sure all the actors and dancers look their best during the shooting and I believe I accomplished that in the best way I could. After the day of shooting, we were required to provide a complete research of our respective departments. As mine is make up department, here is my research.

MAKE UP DEPARTMENT

Cosmetics (colloquially known as makeup or make-up) are care substances used to enhance the appearance or odor of the human body. They are generally mixtures of chemical compounds, some being derived from natural sources and many being synthetics
A professional make-up artist is usually a cosmetology beautician, and applies makeup to anyone who appears on screen. They concentrate on the area above the chest, the face, the top of the head, the fingers, hands, arms, and elbows. Their role is to manipulate the actor's on-screen appearance to make them look younger, older, larger, etc.
Body makeup artists concentrate on the body rather than the head. Make-up itself is substances to enhance the beauty of the human body, but can also change the appearance, disguise, or costume someone. Make-up artists, hair stylists, costume designers, and dress technicians combine their efforts to transform actors into characters, presenters, etc.

Some actors or actresses have personal makeup artists or hair stylists.
Key make-up artist
The key makeup artist is the department head that answers directly to the director and production designer. They are responsible for planning makeup designs for all leading and supporting cast. Their department includes all cosmetic makeup, body makeup and if special effects are involved, the key make-up artist will consult with a special effects makeup team to create all prosthetics and SFX makeup in a production. It is common that the key makeup artist performs makeup applications on lead cast, with assistance, and allows other crew members to work with supporting and minor roles. The key makeup artist will normally execute especially complicated or important makeup processes that are to be featured on camera.

 Make-up supervisor
The make-up supervisor is a supporting position that normally reports to the key makeup artist to assist in running the makeup department. Make-up supervisors typically handle production matters and generally serve the needs of senior artists. Makeup supervisors rarely do makeup themselves. Their duties can include keeping a record of makeup continuity, handing the scheduling of makeup teams and providing for the general needs of the makeup department. They are expected to be a connection between the makeup department and the rest of the production departments, making sure that makeup supplies, production assistants or electricians are on hand when needed.

Make-up artist
Make-up artists work with makeup, hair and special effects to create the characters look for anyone appearing on screen. They assist and report to the key make-up artist.

Key hair
The key hair is the department head that answers directly to the director and production designer. The key hair will normally design and style the hair of lead actors.

Hair stylist
The hair stylist, is responsible for maintaining and styling the hair, including wigs and extensions, of anyone appearing on screen. They assist and report to the key hair
